This is my first shot with my new background that I bought a month ago on Ebay. The shot isnt perfect by any means. I was using my lights which get very hot (or hawt to some :p) and today is a prety warm day so I couldnt use them for too long. I also bought a new folding table to use for shoots. Its nice and compact and can sit in the cupboard when not in use. I have extremely small space so it will hopefully work well, especially when I start shooting more and more stock.

This was taken yesterday but due to problems with logging into Hello I was unable to post this. I am trying to do my istock application so this is one attempt. I think I will reshoot it though tmr as I didn't get it as perfect as I wanted it. My lighting (which are just 2 million candel torches) were not at full strength and I was having other issues lol

I think I am only going to do one or two images a week in here from now on. Thanks to all of you that check back here daily, I really really really appreciate it. I don't have the time to shoot everyday and I think I should stick with quality over quanity. I got through 6 weeks, so I didnt do all that bad lol

Not sure what this statue is for, I am guess its a war memorial of some kind. Its kind of cool and i managed to get pretty decent color on it, despite the bright sky :)

This image actually has great natural color and I was considering posting it as shot with no edits, but then desided to try a new PS effect that I hadn't used before. Hey isn't that what learning is about. Anyway I still kind of like it and I think I will use this action again in the future. Plus I want to build my new website soon, so I could use a few more b&w shots :) Again this photo was only edited today. It was once again taken on Jan 18 like a few of my other photos. I work full time and sometimes just editing a photo is all I get time for.

Got up extra early, went to work, came home broefly and then went out to dinner for work, thus this shot wasnt taken today. It was edited though :) This was taken a few weeks back when I did my ferry trip. This is a cute old church or something that has been converted into a book store. Its such a cute little place :)

Lets see if this post works today and if it doesn't erase yesterdays (I have that one saved in word in case i need it later). Anyway this is an Australian Rules Football. I had a work function last Friday and they gave us each a ball :) I had a lot of glare issues again, even when to the eye the fall has no shine lol I tried to PS it out, but its not perfect. Its a start I guess. Again, this shot was taken in my light cube.

I am not happy. I posted this photo and went to edit it and was told that by the site "The post you were looking for was not found." It was odd since the photo was there and it had the edit button, but once you pressed it, you got that message. Suddenly then my photo disappeared. The I started retyping everything that i had just written, when Hello crashed on me and lost everything I had written the second time. Now at attempt three I have to remember what I had already written because both my other attempts are gone :( Anyway I always take PAD's at 11 pm at night and generally am not getting the results I want because I thought about it too late. This show was also a 11pm shot, but I think i exectued it well and that shows that even if I don't have the time, I can still get a good shot if I allow myself too and if I just believe in my abilities. It only took a minute to set up, a minute to take the photos and then a couple minutes to edit. extremely simple. Its 10 days to Valentines so I thought about getting in the mood early, because love is special and inspiring. :) Theo nly think I hate about the shot is the slight shadow, its not that noticable, but I still would like to improve on my lighting techniques :)

I admitt, this is a little abstract and its not the great a photo, but I wanted something different. These glass stones are actually blue, but I thought pink was a more striking color for it. I am a little tired tonight and wanted to have an early night so I just shot this quickly. I have a busy couple of days coming up where I will most likely submitt photos from my camera phone, so I didn't want to miss today, just in case I do miss tmr. Its tough to do a PAD everyday I am finding, but at least one month is down :) Now its just time to archieve all of my Jan enteries.

Looking back.... That is a photo that was taken on my last day of highschool. Each year there is a different theme and you will dress up. We did a carnival so we are all clowns lol On the right if that is a photo of me that was taken at my 19th birthday. You can't really see my friend properly on this angle. There is also an Ikea little frame thing in front of that. On the far left is a little cable car that I bought in San Fran in 1994. Its such a simple little toy, but its something I am glad to have. I love souveneers of cool places :) This shot is just a photo of my bookcase. Alot is cut out and really what i wanted to capture here was the framed photo most of all. Plus I guess you can tell a lot about a person by their bookcases lol

Very simple shot. I have darkened the edges on this shot, which I think may make the photo a little too dark, yet i think it helps add some softness to the shot and also helps make the candles stand out. Although I cloned it out, I was getting some nasty relective glare at the pottom of the shot from the two lights. How do I stop that from happening? UV filter?

Yes she did it again. I brought my camera out at the 11th hour and my kitty once again decided to sit on the subject (two days in a row). Anyway it turns out this was the best shot I got. It is PSed a bit, but not much. Unfortunatly for the non pet lovers you are stuck with this photo for today. I persnally think its cute and I like the lighting of it. There is a hot spot there, but thats because I didnt set the lighting up for this shot but for something else. Too late to fix in PS as I have to get some sleep.

I have tried a new action tonight for this photo of my little baby girl. Its kind of cool so I went with it. Anyway I feel slack because three photos in the last week were not actually taken on the proper day, however this one was. She was not my intended subject, she came in and sat in front of it lol Anyway this was taken with flash and her eyes came out pretty well considering :)

Angle sucks for this and I wish the neighbours houses were gone, however its my first ever lightning shot. I just took the camera outside and aimed for the sky and this was the only shot I managed to get with the actual bolt. More electrical storms planned for the next three nights so maybe I will get another chance. Even if this photo is on a 6 degree angle, I am still happy that I got to shoot this subject. I would definitely love to try again sometime :)

Another not taken today (again last wednesday) but edited. Its a simple shot, but I kind of like it. I went with sepia to give it an old feel. It would probably look better if the building was a little further right though. I started back at work this week so am trying to get back into the swing of it. I will take some more pics soon. The stuff I took today, are just not worth it.

Definitely the worst shot so far for PAD. Again it was a very hot day so I didn't feel like shooting. I just shot some ice, since the thought of ice right now is extremely attractive. This photo sucks lol However I don't want to miss a day so early in the year lol I have to be good :)

I didn't really take anything today, so I just took a photo of this book as I started reading it today.

I swear, today feels like one of the hotest days I ever remember, and tmr the temps are again extremely hot, so I am not really in much of a mood to take photos.

Its Australia, and the effects of global warming are felt stronger here than anywhere, remembering the hole in the oyzone layer is actually above us. Plus I live in a room that has no air conditioning, so its definitely above 38oC/100oF in this room alone. Its almost 11 at night and the outside temp is 30cC/86oF in Melbourne.

Hopefully I will get a better shot tmr, but it will seriously depend on the weather.

Just a shot of out house. It was taken at sunset, thus the warm colours. Behind the house was overcast, althuogh I have played around and burnt that a lot. I know its not close to perfect or anything as I was just playing, but I would like to learn how to do it better. i also like the contrast of the bright house and dark sky, even if its a little weird. To a degree it was like that. I think its interesting to show house photos because pretty much every other city will have houses that are a completely different style. Its nice to see houses from other places :)

Taken today on the Ferry from Sorrento to Queenscliffe. Someone reminded me the other day to shoot less touristy and a little more arty, because I can do better. Well I think this is the type of shot they meant. This photo is nice and simple, and it describes my day perfectly. A picture says a thousand words afterall.

The water was the most beautiful color. It was the kind of color that you would normally PS in lol Today was also another beautiful summers day.

I feel sad that I have to go to work on Monday, as I am loving this time off.

This shot was taken at sunset. I love the golden colors that the sun gives off at that time of the day. This show is actually a mirror image of its original self as I wanted the brinks to go from left to right and not the other way around. I have added a lotr filter again with an opacity of 70%. After this I just did a quick sharpen to make the bricks look better.

Very last minute PAD (look at the time of posting). I had no motivation today on what to take. This is just a Christmas decoration that my sister gave me for Christmas. L being the first letter of my name. lol It was taken in my light cube with a red backdround. I decided to make it more interesting by desaturating the color and using the history brush to bring back the red crystals. I know its not the greatest in the world, but it will do for today. Hopefully I have a better idea come tomorrow.

The only edit to this was applying a lotr's filter and then reburning in this eye brows and the top of the tower thingy's. Anyway I took a lot of shots today so its hard to really just pick one, so I went for a Melbourne landmark. I like how the shot has come out. Its kind of a little dream like :)

This was one of a few subjects I choose to shoot today. I like how the flowers came out so I used it :) It also means that I still have ideas for another day. Tmr I am going to a popular Melbourne beach which has lots of restuarants and also an amusement park to shoot. Hopefully I get some nice shots for my PAD.

I have started hating self portraits of myself. I used to take a million of them and I liked them, but now I don't. I guess I feel old and I feel uglier than I used to. I have put on weight in the last few years, so thats I guess the main reason. I just don't feel attractive, when I used to think I was kind of pretty. In a way I just hate my freckles and am not happy with my hair style lol

Anyway this shot was PSed and the main edit was a LOTRs action.

Not really a very good photo. Its a very soft (although the subject has a soft texture that doesnt photography well anyway).

Anyway this was taken with my new lightcube that finally arrived today. I still have to learn how to angle the lights to make the most of it, so I will do some more reading. Its also only 11 x 11 so its a very small space to work with, but I will learn. The lighting doesn't look too bad here, but I had to do a lot of PS on the bg. Anyway, this bear was bought from the Empire State Building shortly after 9-11. I have a NYPD one too.

I am kind of tired today and just want to sit back and relax, therefore no reshoot for a better photo. Sorry guys!

Just a tea cup and saucer that I found. I think this belong to my mother so its pretty old. Anyway it was just taken on the black kitchen bench (I used the healing brush and burn tools to darken it). It was taken with kitchen lighting and also with one of my lamps. I didn't use a soft box, but did use the white material from my softbox to defuse the light. I am still waiting on my light cube to arrive.

This show is kind of a fluke shot, I was walking up stairs and I saw the sunset out the window and immediately grabbed my camera. I think I would have killed myself if I missed it lol

Taken today from outside my front door). I did tweak the colors a little. I hope they look ok on your screens as I know these shots can sometimes easily blow out on some monitors. Anyway its Summer here in Australia so its the best time to shoot beautiful sunsets. Across the road from us is an empty paddock, which allowed me to get a pretty clear view :) Anyway I like how it came out. This was one of the first that I took in a 10-15 shooting period. By the end of that time the sky was begining to darken a lot so I had to work pretty fast. I love the shot :)

This is my first PAD taken with my 50mm 1.8 lens. I was thinking today how I wanted to use that lens more since I generally always stick with the kit and here we have it.

This was a very simple shot that was taken on the coffee table in our living room. It gets awesome natural light from the window, which is perfect for backlighting subjects. I know that the blinds are a distraction. I think its cool though :)

I was just messing around really with long exposures. Its far from the greatest shot in the world, but it was still fun to play with. This was shot with a 30 shutter out the upstairs window. You can see the car lights on the two roads. I will have to try it again sometime with a far busier road. Its actually my first ever attempt at a 30 shutter (old cam went to 16). Don't you just love the extra noise and hot pixles that you get to experiance with these shots? Fun! lol I also don't know enough about removing color casts. I tried to make this one a little less red, but i even though it was only a slight change, it looks to green now lol

I am kind of cheating since I used this as a subject for my brief PAD last year. Not the greatest shot in the world but its 11 pm and I am tired. Its hard to find time sometimes when you work full time lol Anyway I like the complexity of the subject and the texture of it. Its only day 5 and its already hard to come up with ideas. I am thinking that I may use some of the dpchelleges as inspiration this week and to help me come up with ideas. Shapes has been a slight inspiration for this one. I may do a few more shapes this week.
